The new song "Kaiju" has been chosen as the opening theme for the TV anime "Chi. -About the Movement of the Earth-"! The anime PV featuring the song has been released!
サカナクションの新曲「怪獣」がTVアニメ「チ。 ―地球の運動について―」OP主題歌に決定。
楽曲が使用されたアニメPVが公開となりました。
TVアニメ放送はNHK総合テレビにて2024年10月5日(土)23時45分よりスタート（初回は1話、2話連続放送）、各話放送終了後にはNetflixでの世界配信、ABEMAでの無料配信が行われます。

1. What were your thoughts when you read the original story and script?
I was able to read the work without any prior knowledge, so I really enjoyed it.
What appears to be historical fact and fiction are mixed together on the edge of the book, and there are no logical gaps no matter how far you read.
It is a work that is built on a fantastic sense of balance, with the passion of humanity mixed into it.
2. Thoughts behind the theme song and a message to your fans
Rather than turning the original theme into music that was easy to understand and concrete, the focus in the production was on making it as abstract and persuasive as possible.
Despite being on hiatus for two years and not having released a new song in a long time, we were able to perform the theme song for a TV anime for the first time with "Chi. -About the Earth's Movement-". And more than anything, it is a great honor for the band to be involved in this wonderful work.
We hope that our feelings will be conveyed to our listeners.
ICHIRO YAMAGUCHI (SAKANACTION)
The story is set in a certain European country in the 15th century. In an era when the geocentric theory, which states that the Earth is the center of the universe and the planets revolve around it, was considered the truth of the world, and believing or researching anything that overturned that theory was a serious crime, a child prodigy named Rafal learned of the possibility of the heliocentric theory through the words of the mysterious scholar Hubert. He was called a genius by those around him and even considered himself a genius, but an uncontrollable and intense intellectual curiosity began to grow in him. "What on earth do I have to sacrifice to know everything about this world?" he asked, risking his own "knowledge," "blood," and even his life to try to prove the heliocentric theory. What fate awaits Rafal?
