Formed in 2017 by Yutaro Furudate (ex. The SALOVERS) and Ayata Kato (ex. Ponytail Scrime). Both of them were on indefinite hiatus from the bands they were in, but they could not suppress their desire to "make music in a band," leading to the formation of the band. On February 22, 2022, bassist Natsuhiko Mori (ex. Shiggy Jr.) and drummer Naho Utagawa (ex. Akai Koen) joined the band, and the band changed its name from "2" to "THE 2" as a four-person group. The band name represents "episode 2" of the members' musical lives. Yutaro Furudate's original and impatient sense of language rides on a sharp alternative sound, producing a sour main melody.
