ICHIRO YAMAGUCHI has been selected to participate in "People of the Year by COMME des GARÇONS and SWITCH", a joint project by COMME des GARÇONS, Rei Kawakubo and the magazine "SWITCH".
Item details have been announced.
・Staff coat 47,300 yen (including tax 4,300 yen)
・Tote bag: 31,900 yen (including tax: 2,900 yen)
ICHIRO YAMAGUCHI will be participating in "People of the Year by COMME des GARÇONS and SWITCH," a joint project by COMME des GARÇONS, Rei Kawakubo, and the magazine "SWITCH."
Works by artists from various genres selected by COMME des GARÇONS and SWITCH will be developed into items designed by Rei Kawakubo.
About "People of the Year by COMME des GARÇONS and SWITCH"
Fashion brand COMME des GARÇONS is paying tribute to people active in various genres these days, and will be releasing new items by COMME des GARÇONS, featuring their original expressions, designed by Rei Kawakubo. The items will be released on November 28th (sales will end at the end of this year). The items will be available at COMME des GARÇONS stores in Japan and overseas, as well as DOVER STREET MARKET. Each store will have displays designed by Rei Kawakubo. (They are also planned to be sold at the Switch online shop.)
For this first commemorative edition, our magazine "SWITCH", which celebrated its 35th anniversary this year, was appointed as a project partner of COMME des GARÇONS and selected artists to work with us. Since its early days, "SWITCH" has continued to convey the fashion of COMME des GARÇONS and her aesthetic sense and philosophy through its pages, including long interviews with designer Rei Kawakubo. This collaboration, which goes beyond the scope of a special feature, is an incredible honor, and this project will demonstrate the significance of the paper magazine "SWITCH" in the current COVID-19 pandemic.
