SAKANACTION 's first tour in about two years kicked off in Nagoya, and the venue was filled with the sight of a merchandise sales area, a sight unique to tours.
This time, we interviewed director Mr. S about the concept of the tour goods.
- Nice to meet you. This is Weekly Uotami.
Mr. S: "Hello. Nice to meet you. I'm the director of SAKANACTION 's merchandise. I'm S."
--Once again, the lineup is full of enthusiasm.
Sweatshirts are popular.
"That's right. It's a sweatshirt that uses a pattern carefully selected by SAKANACTION 's stylists, Shinichi and ICHIRO, and since we've had a string of hoodie items, we chose a crew neck type this time. The vintage-like grey color is also one of our special features."
--Toothbrushes are a rare item in musicians' tour goods.
“The dentist who treats our members gave us a gift: toothbrushes with the ‘NF’ logo and the ‘bone’ logo on them. Since the NF team loves using them, we decided to release merchandise in collaboration with these GC Lechero toothbrushes.
Many people may have seen this toothbrush at the dentist. We implemented a request from Mr. Hirayama, the lighting designer, to include a terry cloth case to make it easier to carry around."
--I see, so there was an episode like that.
"The other merchandise tied to the new song is [SHOCK CANDY] and [PLATEAU CASE].
[SHOCK CANDY] was inspired by the lyrics of "Shock!", "I suddenly wanted to lick up the sourness of my youth", and because the shock opens your eyes, I thought that SUPER LEMON candy was the only option. I asked Nobel Confectionery and they readily agreed. The English text on the package is the English translation of the lyrics of "Shock!".
--It's a long-selling candy, so I imagine there are many people who feel nostalgic about it.
"The reason why the PLATEAU CASE is called a plateau case is because it is a plastic cylindrical case. It's a pun.
I had been selling lunch boxes and tumblers, and when I was wondering what to buy next, I came across this easy-to-use case."
"The most popular item among the staff is the MESH BAG. It's a convenient item for us who travel a lot on tour. We pack our laundry in this mesh bag, and when we get home, we just tie off the handles and throw it in the washing machine. It can also be used as a laundry net.
The reason we chose fluorescent orange this time was because when we previously used fluorescent yellow (834.194 's 6.1ch tour), we saw people leaving the venue with fluorescent yellow bags, and we thought it was a good color because it really stood out. We sometimes bump into people in the city, and it makes us really happy. It's included as a service with purchases over 7,000 yen, and you can also purchase it.
-thank you very much.
You can't be a merchandise director unless you have a variety of perspectives.
During this tour, some new items are being sold via mail order to NF member in order to ease congestion at the merchandise counter.
